Project 5 Ideas
Idea 1: Typography style commercial directly explaining the uses of the product.
Idea 2: 2D animated skit of some one majorly screwing up in some fashion or the other and then using the product to go back in time, then saving himself and now has a happy ending.
Idea 3: Same as the above, but with stop motion.
Idea 4: Same as the two above, but with 3D (YAY MAYA)
Idea 5: Machinima creation from different games showing the idea in it's natural element, with a voice-over of exactly what's going on and how the ability to load save points is now available in real life.

Commercial Evaluations

Mass Effect 3: (Take The Earth)
In this Trailer BiowareEA is trying to sell their latest product, Mass Effect 3, a cross-platform videogame and the final to a trilogy. It's got a somber yet hopeful tone with a target audience of male gamers between the age of 16 and 25. The goal of the product, or rather, what the commercial is trying to sell the audience on is a tragic epic that spans 3 games and culminates with a massive battle. It uses 3D animations from the game itself and although there is a general narrating "voice" per se, it takes the form of quotes from multiple characters throughout the game.
Commercial 2: http://youtu.be/DaIcv8KJ5l4
Avatar: The Last Airbender
This is an animated trailer for one of Nick's "Anime-style" animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Again it has a relatively serious tone, with a target audience of 12 to 19 year olds. The commercial creates the illusion of this epic story which leaves the viewer hanging and wanting to know exactly what's going on, thus doing a successful job of selling itself after creating a demand that the viewer didn't previously know they had. It's got narration from a single, omniscient, narrator.

The Hunger Games
This is a live trailer for the movie Hunger Games with a single narrator giving some sort of explanation to the viewer. Without previous knowledge of the plot, the viewer is only shown a girl going through some extreme circumstances with a voice over of some guy supporting her and giving her some back up. This sets up the viewer's need to want to find out what's going on, although not entirely too successful at it.
Commercial 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYecfV3ubP8
Apple Macintosh
Hah, this is a parody trailer for the successor the Apple II, the Apple Macintosh back in 1984 that set up IBM "Big Blue" as "big Brother" in a 1984 parody. It presents the idea that IBM's influence is pervasive and is going to take over everything especially with their government contracts, taking that into account it presents their product as the solution to this overbearing figure, as the rebel. So to an extent, it is successful in billing their product in a really positive light.
Commercial 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lUkF1vVudA
HTC
This is a live trailer for the HTC line of phones with an upbeat and fun tone to it with a constant external narrator who tries to appeal to the viewer in a direct manner. The commercial bills the phones as being perfect for "you" meaning it can be customized to do whatever the user wants it to be, and is supposedly good at all these different things.

Business Cards - Alternatives?
Working on the Brochure and Letterhead I realized that my design is actually REALLY flexible, so here are some examples of multiple versions of the Business Card (The only thing currently at RC level)

1) What is your business?
The selling of savepoints to access in realtime through a variety of terminals.
2) Describe your business in one sentence
We sell the ability to go back in time and fix/redo things.
3) Who is your target audience?
Teens, young adults. Both genders.
4) Who are your competitors?
Religious Organizations who are against it...
5) What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
Not really applicable.
6) Do you currently have an identity? (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity. If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)
N/A
7) (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question) What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?
N/A
8) How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
Still the only one one of it's type on the market, with control over governmental rules regarding the product due to the sensitivity of time/space shenanigans. Something that's revolutionized the Alpha timeline with no cracks and is on it's way to being in the hands of at least 1/2(Though in reality in 2 years it'd only be at maybe 10% of peoples due to prices and the time it takes for the adoption of a new technology) of all peoples in first world nations. It should be recognized as reliable and working.
9) If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
10) If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
David Tennant/John Barrowman/Harrison Ford because time travelers/sci fi heroes of repute.
11) If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
A digital watch.
12) If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Haruhi Suzumiya? Sure, we'll go with that.

Endless Trial of Collage-ness

Program used: Adobe Photoshop CS4 & Topaz Labs Filters (v3)
Time taken: Aprox. 4-5 hours
Source Images used: Aprox. 9
Theme: Juliana Theory's Shotgun Serenade, in particular the quoted line on the image: "There's a freight train coming to force your head in check" and the previous line in the song, which is the title of the piece, "I know it's you, I can forget"
Process: I actually tackled this one backwards from what it was supposed to be. We were supposed to grab a quote/source and build an image around that, but after going through some images that gave me some inspiration I decided to work on something that's been floating around in the back of my head for some time, so I went for the image first. The base is a simple tunnel that's an end, but I wanted it to look like a "psuedo subway" so there is originally a subway image superimposed on top of the normal ending and then blended into the image. Although it ultimately didn't show up as much as I wanted it to, I'm quite pleased with the effect it DID provide and the color and flow it provides to the rest of the piece. Then I wanted a few images placed along the walls to act like memories, thus two images chosen of similiar looking females on the left side in a "punk" style and then an image of a "scene" male on the right side (Less space and more angled served to remove most of the focus off that part, instead just providing some nice texture in the end. No complaints as it was more or less simply to make the right wall look less plain, and it's ultimate goal was accomplished thusly.) The fire at the end is composed of three images. At it's base it's a manipulated universe stock of two planets colliding, and then two 3D objects super imposed on top of it with varying effects to create the impression that it's moving outwards. Overall I'm quite pleased with the image. A variety of filters to make the image look more like it's one, and then a variety of final outcomes because my own personal taste is kind of skewed (My personal favorite is v3) and may not be exactly aesthetically harmonious for most people. The text/"inspiration" was chosen because I felt like it really fit what I was going for with the image, and as I was going through a list of songs to find one that fit it, Shotgun Serenade started playing and I immediately realized it was the right one - Might have been my unconscious at work when designing the piece as this song is by far one of my all-time favorites.

Self Insertion Shenanigans!
This above is the final outcome. I am less than pleased with it, but eh that's because the quality of both soruce images were shoddy, the original BG was already filter-frakked stock because of the scene, and the self-image used is in a color scheme that is completely opposite of what the BG was so, yeah. Only so much I can do with no proper previous training in photo manip. Two versions because twenty minutes of hide/unhide later I cant make up my mind which is better SO.
Idea? Simple - we had to put ourselves in a place we've never been, but nobody said it had to be a real place. And since the only pictures I have of me are at conventions in silly costumes, I went to the logical conclusion of shenanigans and lulz and thus arose Jedi Japan! ... Yeah no, but oh well.
Process: Self-insertion had a few layers over it as clipping masks to bring it more in tune with the image, then some filtering/shadows were added to the image as a whole by the way of the burn/dodge/blur tool, layer and blending modes, and gaussian blur. Oh and a couple light gradients.
Sources? WELL, since you asked.

Timey-Wimey Stuff
Vector Illustrations Ahoy!
So, the theme being "Time" it makes sense that I use a Time-lord and a time-machine - Courtesy of everyone's favorite sci-fi show, Doctor Who. Frankly, Vectoring's never been something I've been good at, and my hand's shaky as balls... Also I did the mistake of choosing a highly pixelated image, which made the face an absolute hassle. The background was made into simple mono-color shapes in order to take away all importance from it, and the TARDIS (Uses Gradient Meshes) and The Doctor (using traditional vector shadow) were made with dfferent methods to create a contrast between the two.
Personal Rating: -10/10 (Including Face)
Without Face: 7/10

Vector Illustration - Idea 1: Time
For the Vector Illustration the first idea I'm toying with is Time, and the image to be used is the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimenion in Space) from the popular british science fictions series, Doctor Who. Some source images for reference:
Realtime Savepoints! - Project 1 Final
We've all hit that point in games where we get tired of what we're doing and just kill everything in sight. And we've always wanted to do it in real time, but those pesky consequences and lack of being able to say "K. I'm done - RESET!" has kept us from doing so. Or maybe you took option B instead of A and ended up in a place you'd really rather not be? Well, now you can fix it all! Proudly Presenting Realtime Savepoints! Now you CAN reset in real life! Contrary to what some moles may say!
Realtime Savepoints works through key breaks in manipulating wibbly-wobbley timey-wimey technology. It is a small watch-like device that user wears and creates save points and will and then has the ability to scroll through them and select which one to return to. What, time travel you say? Of course not! That'd create paradoxes and that would be bad. No, with our new understanding of space-time as more than just a linear route, realtime savepoints simply allows the user to keep their memory as their body and consciousness slides through to one of the many offshoot universes created any time a choice is made. Silly, you can't go back in your own time.
DISCLAIMER: Realtime Savepoints. and it's affiliates are not to be held responsible for any harm done through the use of this product and in no way condone any class-1 felonies, international or not, that may or may not be committed. We are not to be held responsible for the dooming of any non-alpha timelines. Our product should be used carefully, especially in the alpha timeline - Remember, the alpha timeline is NOT supposed to be doomed. As another reminder, just because YOU don't have to stay in a timeline, doesn't mean others don't.

Project 1 Logos - Drafts and Processes
To explain a bit about what's being seen throughout this process: The first scan is a rough draft of just sketches that I drew as they came to mind for a variety of the firms and products I came up with in an earlier post. The next image shows what I believed to be some of the best (i.e. had the most potential) logos and what they came out to look like, and the third is a WIP of what at the time of writing this is looking like the final product.
